I am a fully qualified relational psychotherapist and registered member of the BACP. I aim to work safely and abide by the BACP ethical framework. Along with my private practice I also work in a secondary school with adolescence and staff support. I hold regular group wellbeing sessions as well as 1 to 1 support. I aim to be a helpful guide as you work towards acceptance, growth and change where and when it is needed.
About me and my practice
I am a relational therapeutic counsellor which means I am encouraged to build trust and understanding through the development of a relationship. I work with an understanding that relationships can be harmful and may also be healing. I believe that no two people have the same one experience and I tailor my approach to best fit the individual I work with, gaining understanding as we collaborate towards your personal goals and solutions. I offer a safe, confidential space to explore difficult emotions and obstructions to life and living. I am trained in different approaches to better meet the needs of the individual. Some of these approaches include a trauma informed approach, cognitive behavioural skills, compassion focused approach, meditative therapeutic skills, working at depth, working humanistically, existential phsychotherapy, creative interventions and mindfulness to name a few ways I might work towards your personal theory of change.
Experience
I have been qualified for 2 years where I have worked as a remote outreach clinician, a creative therapeutic counsellor working with children and young people, and a private psychotherapist. In my work I pay close attention to what is not being said and consider that it may be hard to sometimes find the words. Working within the field of adolescence I have grown a sense of stability and resilience whilst maintaining a level of empathy towards difficult emotions and feelings.
